I plan travel. If you don’t know where to start, that’s OK. All of my clients are different. Some have traveled extensively, while others may be traveling out of the United States for the first time. No matter where you are coming from, I can provide expert advice as you plan your adventure. In a world where ubiqitous technology promises to provide all the answers, I am here to add a personal touch, leveraging my personal experience to truly connect you to the world in ways that surprise and delight.
Independent Journeys
+ What falls into this category?
Independent journies are custom itineraries. Once we determine what your priorities and expectations are, I will work with my partners at your desired destination to develop a unique itinerary for you. Typically, I put these trips together for couples or families, but if you have a larger group, custom travel is still very feasible.
+ IS THIS THE RIGHT OPTION FOR ME?
These private premium itineraries tend to be more expensive then group-based travel, but they provide you with the greatest flexibilty and ensure that you can get off the beaten path to visit less traveled destinations.
+ WHAT’S THE INVESTMENT?
No two trips are exactly the same, and we have some flexibility based upon your priorities. An itinerary that includes ground transportation, a variety of tours, and premium lodging options will typically fall into the range of $250-$750 per person, per day. (International air not included.)
+ WHAT’S YOUR FEE?
I charge a flat planning fee of $175 per person for custom private itineraries, not to exceed $500 total per family.
Cruises and Tours
+ WHAT FALLS INTO THIS CATEGORY?
This category includes everything from river cruises and ocean cruises to premium motorcoach tours. This type of travel is elegant, stress-free, and high-value, allowing you to just relax and savor the experience. I carefully select my partners based on quality, value, and service, and am certified by them for my product expertise.
+ Is this the right option for me?
Do you enjoy meeting and traveling with interesting, like-minded people? For us, this adds another dimension to the travel experience, and we have developed many lifelong friendships along the way. Both River cruising and premium motorcoach tours offer a structured itinerary with plenty of time built in to explore destinations on your own. Forget about the logistics of travel. Enjoy the journey.
+ What’s the Investment?
Prices will vary by season and other factors such as cabin selection (on cruises). Let me know what your interests are, and I will provide you with a range of options. Most cruise and tour companies clearly state their prices on their websites. When you book with Kilometer One, you never pay more, but you always get more.
+ WHAT’S YOUR FEE?
I do not charge my clients a planning fee for river cruises or tours. If you feel that I have provided you with exceptional service, I would encourage you to make a tax-deductible donation to my non-profit partner, Ronald McDonald House (RMH) Charities® of Northeast Ohio.
Signature Tours
+ What falls into this category?
Each year, Susana and I personally host a tour to one of our favorite destinations. I love sharing these experiences. From River Cruising in Eastern Europe to Wine Tours in La Rioja, I handpick experiences that connect you to the land and people. The next available Km1 Signature Tour will be Camino de Santiago in September of 2022.
+ Is this the right option for me?
Much of this depends on the activity associated with a given tour. For example, the 2022 tour includes over 100 km of hiking. Signature tours are designed to combine value and off-the-beaten-path experiences. I lean towards the rustic and traditional and tend to avoid trendy or overvalued destinations.
+ What’s the investment?
Km1 Signature Tours are normally 10-12 days with an all-inclusive cost of $300-$350 per person, per day. This varies by destination.
+ What’s your fee?
There are no planning fees for Kilometer One Signature Tours. Let’s get started by scheduling your free consultation.
