An Aegean Diary
“Happy is the man, who before dying, has the good fortune to sail the Aegean Sea”.
-Niko Kazantzakis
We recently had the opportunity to explore what is for us, a new area of the world: The Eastern Mediterranean. Starting in Israel, and ending in Rome, we roughly followed the path of St. Paul as he shared the nascent Christian faith throughout the Roman Empire. Along with 16 client-friends, we boarded our ship, the Oceania Nautica, in Haifa to begin a bucket-list adventure. If you subscribe to my newsletter, you probably know that we arrived on October 6th, the eve of the Hamas attack across the Gaza border. Thanks to the team at Oceania, we were spirited out of the country unharmed. Of course, we were not able to appreciate the sites and experiences in Israel that we had anticipated. Our hearts go out to the victims of the chapter of violence that began on that day.
Although there is no way to fully communicate our experience in a blog post, I wanted to share some memories with you. Please click on each image to open it and learn more. I hope that these images inspire you to consider visiting the Aegean and the rest of the Eastern Mediterranean. I know that we will be back!
I hope that you enjoyed exploring the photos above. Maybe you have already explored this part of the world, or maybe it’s on your own bucket list. Regardless, I would love to collaborate with you as you make your travel dreams a reality. When you’re ready, I’ll be here.
